Spooner’s Cleaning Services-Health & Safety

Health and Safety is of paramount important in business nowadays with increasing premiums and claims. We are very aware of this and have all of the Health and Safety and insurance requirements. Spooner’s have an up to date Safety and Method statements and all our operatives have safe passes. Our insurance details have a Public Liability of 6.5 million and the Employers Liability is up to 13 million. Our insurance has PSCS contained in it, as this is required from some bodies. Liam Spooner is our Health and Safety officer and enforces safe practices on the job. Our operatives have access to all the necessary PPE equipment, such as hi-vis vests, steel toe boots, anti-fog goggles, gloves, and a range of filter masks. Use of floor signs or cones are mandatory when we are on jobs where they are required, in particular where there are wet floors and work from heights. At Spooner’s we minimize working off the ground as we use telescopic lances for power washing, high reach reach and wash poles for window cleaning both inside and outside. When we do need to use ladders they have stabilizers attached to them. One of our operatives has a cherry picker ticket and when he is in it he is harnessed to the cage to ensure his safety. To date we have never had an accident at work or an insurance claim, thank God, but it is also testimant to our standard operating procedures in Health and Safety.
